Workshop Facilitating the process of ISTDP
Sullivan said, “Skill in psychotherapy consists of doing as much with as little as possible.” In the seminar we will follow two cases from beginning to end. Both patients presented with multiple symptoms of long duration, as well as significant character pathology. Yet deep and lasting change was produced in a short period of time ( 9 hours each). How was this accomplished?
In this seminar we will focus on:
- Working at the patient’s highest level of capacity
- Intervening in a systematic but flexible manner, based on the patients present and shifting level of capacity
- Dealing actively with rupture and repair along the way
